Feasting on God's Word
My Thoughts:
My friend, the Scriptures were given that we might be brought into a knowledge of God through His Son Jesus Christ. In the Old Testament it points to the coming Messiah, while in the gospels of the New Testament it reveals the Son of God come in the flesh that He may more clearly reveal the Father to us.

As we feast upon the Word of God we are brought into a knowledge of Who God is. In them we find that He is a loving father that longs to be reunited with His wayward children. His love for us is so deep that He sends His only begotten Son to reveal Him to us that we may be brought back into a close relationship with Him.

The one thing that prevents us from being reunited with our Father is our sinful state. Our nature has been so defiled by sin that we cannot be in His presences least we be consumed by His holiness. In order for us to be reunited with God, we need a change of nature; we need a new spirit put within us that is not defiled by sin. The remedy for this is to receive the Spirit of Christ within our hearts. This is the new birth.

The Son of God did not come just to die for our sins, but to unite His Spirit with humanity, that He may give us this Spirit. Thus when we receive Christ as our Savior, we are receiving much more than just forgiveness of sin, we are receiving the very life of the Son of God, that in receiving His Spirit, we are cleansed from all unrighteousness.

My friend, our salvation is more than just receiving forgiveness of our sins, it is to be cleansed from all unrighteousness. This cleansing is a purification of soul, it is a transformation of life. We receive the very life of God given to us in His Son. "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son." (1 John 5:11). "For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;" (John 5:26).

Won't you receive the life of God in His Son today?

Little Children May Be Christians

Today's Devotion

Little Children May Be Christians
My Thoughts:
My friend, we are to accept Christ as a little child, for Jesus said "Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein." (Mark 10:15). Therefore, if we are to receive Christ like as a child, so too can a child surrender their heart to Jesus.

One does not need to be a adult to accept Christ as their Savior, but they simply need to respond and accept the working of the Spirit of Christ upon the heart. A child is much more willing to receive Christ than those who are older and more self-sufficient. These tend to be more absorbed in their careers, families, friends, and pleasures of the world, and as such they resist the working of Christ upon the heart.

Children are less set in their ways and their hearts are more receptive to the working of the Spirit of God, and as such are more willing to trust and surrender their hearts to Him. If we would enter into the kingdom of God, we must be as a child and open the doors of our hearts to Him.

My friend Jesus is knocking on the doors of your heart today saying "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:20). Wont you open your heart to Him today?

"I Will Save Thy Children"

Today's Devotion

"I Will Save Thy Children"
My Thoughts:
My friend, the enemy of souls is relentless in his fight against those who are created in the image of God. He seeks to destroy this image at every turn. One of the most successful ways that he has been able to do this is by destroying the family unit by pushing gender confusion and equality. When the roles of the man and woman are confused or removed, this gives him ready access to mold the hearts of the children after his own.

As parents we are to guard the hearts and minds of our children, molding them into the image of God, that they may grow into the maturing of Christ in them. God delights in the home that is filled with His love. Angels desire to dwell in these homes, and the evil angels are kept at bay.

My friend, as we as parents fulfill the roles that God has set for us, surrendering our hearts to Him, He will guide us in the raising of our children. He will save our children.
