Keep Looking Up!

Today's Text Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:2

Several years ago, while journeying from Christiania, Norway, to Goteborg, Sweden, I was favored with the sight of the most glorious sunset it was ever my privilege to behold. Language is inadequate to picture its beauty. The last beams of the setting sun, silver and gold, purple, amber, and crimson, shed their glories athwart the sky, growing brighter and brighter, rising higher and higher in the heavens, until it seemed that the gates of the city of God had been left ajar, and gleams of the inner glory were flashing through. For two hours the wondrous splendor continued to light up the cold northern sky—a picture painted by the great Master Artist upon the shifting canvas of the heavens. Like the smile of God it seemed, above all earthly homes, above the rock-bound plains, the rugged mountains, the lonely forests, through which our journey lay. Angels of mercy seemed whispering: “Look up! This glory is but a gleam of the light which flows from the throne of God. Live not for earth alone. Look up, and behold by faith the mansions of the heavenly home.” This scene was to me as the bow of promise to Noah, enabling me to grasp the assurance of God's unfailing care, and to look forward to the haven of rest awaiting the faithful worker.... As God's children, it is our privilege ever to look up, keeping the eye of faith fixed on Christ. As we constantly keep Him in view, the sunshine of His presence floods the chambers of the mind. The light of Christ in the soul-temple brings peace. The soul is stayed on God. All perplexities and anxieties are committed to Jesus. As we continue to behold Him, His image becomes engraved on the heart, and is revealed in the daily life.... My dear young friends, ever keep Christ in view. Thus only can you keep the eye single to God's glory. Jesus is your light and life and peace and assurance forever. The Youth's Instructor, October 23, 1902. My Thoughts: My friend, our salvation is assured by the promise of God through His Son Jesus Christ. As long as we continue to trust in Him, He will fit us for Heaven. Our salvation is not a future event, but is a present reality. Jesus said "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24). This promise that has been given to us in the past does not point to a future time when we shall pass from death unto life, but is speaking about a present reality. Everlasting life is not based upon our performance but upon our connection with Jesus Christ. Our true problem with sin is not that we have sinned but that we are sinful by nature. The actions of sin are simply a result of the nature that has been handed down to us from our first parents. We were born with a sinful nature and as such we sin. The law was given to bring us unto a knowledge of God, and to put a check upon our carnal natures. The law was never given to save us. "Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified." (Galatians 2:16). The law was given until Jesus would come and give us the true solution to our problem with sin, His very own life. "But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ." (Galatians 3:23-27). My friend, when we accept Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, as our Savior, we become children of God. We are children because the divine life of Jesus lives within us. We have received the new birth of the divine nature of Jesus within our hearts. Thus we are no longer servants under the law, but are heirs of the Father; our Father. God bless,

God's Helping Hand

Today's Text And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. Mark 16:15

“God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son.” He “sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16, 17. The love of God embraces all mankind. Christ, in giving the commission to the disciples, said: “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Testimonies for the Church 6:273. All who are ordained unto the life of Christ are ordained to work for the salvation of their fellow men. Their hearts will throb in unison with the heart of Christ. The same longing for souls that He has felt will be manifest in them. Not all can fill the same place in the work, but there is a place and a work for all.... Every gift is to be employed for the advancement of His kingdom and the glory of His name. Christ's Object Lessons, 301. Christ desires to use the youth in His service. He needs missionaries. The barren fields all over the world call to heaven for laborers. If the youth will give themselves to God, He will give them wisdom and knowledge, preparing them for service. If they will consecrate themselves to Him, He will make them vessels unto honor, into which He can pour the precious oil of the Spirit, to be imparted to others. God's helping hand—this is what you may be if you will yield yourselves to His keeping. The Youth's Instructor, January 1, 1903. To everyone who offers himself to the Lord for service, withholding nothing, is given power for the attainment of measureless results. For these God will do great things. The Ministry of Healing, 160. To young men and young women, as well as to those who are older, God will give power from above. With converted minds, converted hands, converted feet, and converted tongues, their lips touched with a living coal from the divine altar, they will go forth into the Master's service, moving steadily onward and upward, carrying the work forward to completion. My Thoughts: My friend, the gospel that is to go to the world seems to have lost its power since the time of Christ. How has this happened? What is the reason why it does not take hold of the people as in apostolic times? The answer is that the enemy of souls has supplanted the Son of God for God the Son. By the churches adoption of the trinity, it has removed Jesus as the Son of God and has replaced Him with God the Son; a being who is not truly the Son of God, but is God unto Himself, thus separating the church from eternal life in the Son of God. You may ask yourself how does this separate us from the power of God? The answer is by supplanting the God of the bible for the false god of the trinity. Satan has deceived the whole of the Christian world to worship a god of his own devising, thus separating us from our only source of salvation. "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. (1 John 5:11, 12). My friend, if you we do not have the true Son of God, we do not have everlasting life. "For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;" (John 5:26). If we have been deceived into accepting the counterfeit verses the real, we cannot be saved. The trinity teaches that the Son of God is not truly the Son of God, but is God unto himself. In this way we have been deceived. It is time that we look away from the false god of the trinity unto the One true God through His Son Jesus Christ today. "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3). God bless,

In the Channel of Blessing

Today's Text Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Hebrews 10:25

Never entertain the thought that you can be Christians and yet withdraw within yourselves. Each one is a part of the great web of humanity, and the nature and quality of your experience will be largely determined by the experiences of those with whom you associate.... Then let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together. Testimonies for the Church 7:190. Many declare that it is certainly no harm to go to a concert and neglect the prayer meeting, or absent themselves from meetings where God's servants are to declare a message from heaven. It is safe for you to be just where Christ has said He would be.... Jesus has said, “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20. Can you afford to choose your pleasure and miss the blessing? Messages to Young People, 140, 141. If Christians would associate together, speaking to each other of the love of God, and of the precious truths of redemption, their own hearts would be refreshed, and they would refresh one another. Steps to Christ, 101, 102. All should have something to say for the Lord, for by so doing they will be blest. A book of remembrance is written of those who do not forsake the assembling of themselves together, but speak often one to another. The remnant are to overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.... We should not come together to remain silent; those only are remembered of the Lord who assemble to speak of His honor and glory and tell of His power; upon such the blessing of God will rest, and they will be refreshed. Early Writings, 114, 115. We should improve every opportunity of placing ourselves in the channel of blessing.... The convocations of the church, as in camp meetings, the assemblies of the home church, and all occasions where there is personal labor for souls, are God's appointed opportunities for giving the early and the latter rain. My Thoughts: My friend, as the Good Samaritan took care of the Jew that fell among the thieves and placed him in the care of the innkeeper, so too are we to care for all those who come across our path. The innkeeper represents the church, and Christ the Good Samaritan. Christ has given to us those who are to be cared for and nurtured. The body of Christ is His people, and we are to care for and nurture each other both spiritually and physically. We cannot do this unless we regularly gather together that we may draw strength and encouragement from one another. As we share the blessings that God has given us with others, they will be encouraged and strengthened as well. God bless,
