My friend, our salvation is in Jesus Christ alone. By His life, we are cleansed from all unrighteousness. This is the true gospel that is to go to the whole world and prepare the world to meet Him. How sad it is today that we have been accepted another gospel; a gospel of salvation by faith in Jesus and by keeping the law. This is another gospel, a gospel that is not taught in the Bible.
The apostle Paul exclaimed to the people of Galatia saying "I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:" (Galatians 1:6). The gospel that he received from Jesus Christ was the gospel of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ alone without the deeds of the law.
How sad it is today that we as Seventh-day Adventists have accepted another gospel; a gospel of salvation by faith and the deeds of the law. While this is not outwardly proclaimed in the doctrines of the church, it is in practice. The emphasis is upon keeping the commandments of God that we may be accounted worthy to receive salvation. In essence it is salvation by grace and by the law.
No where in the gospel is our salvation based upon anything other than our acceptance in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24). Our salvation is not based upon our performance, but upon our relationship with Jesus Christ.
It is in this relationship that our lives will be transformed into the likeness of Christ. Those who are saved will keep the commandments of God, but the basis of their salvation is not upon their keeping of the commandments. As Seventh-day Adventists, we claim that this is true, but in practice we have become as legalistic as those in the time of Christ's first coming.
The reason why the Seventh-day Adventist Church is in the condition that it is, is because of the adoption of the trinity. The trinity is a false image of God and as such it leaves the believer without the the true righteousness of the Son of God. As such they look unto the righteousness of the law to supply their lack. But while the law is holy and righteous and good, it cannot transform the heart. The believer may have an outward display of righteousness, but in their heart they are unchanged.
My friend, the only righteousness that will satisfy is the righteousness from the true Son of God living within our hearts. "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3).
Wont you turn away from the false god of the trinity unto the One true God through the only begotten Son of God today?
God bless,
