The Knowledge of God Covers the Earth
My Thoughts:
My friend, the beauties and wonders of heaven will be opened to the redeemed of God. As the restoration of man is accomplished and the plight of sin removed, the earth will be restored. The new earth will be the home of the redeemed forever. There the Father and the Son will reign, for heaven has come down to earth.

"And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever." (Revelation 22:1-5).

This is the joy that awaits all that would surrender their lives to Jesus, the only begotten Son of God.

Reward for Soul Winners

Reward for Soul Winners
My Thoughts:
My friend, when Jesus was in want of water and of food, He asked a Samaritan woman for a cup of water. Startled that a Jew would ask for this small favor, began to question him. In speaking to her, Jesus found an opportunity to reveal to her that He was the coming Messiah and then offered to her living water, that she would never thirst again. With that she went and called others to Jesus.

When she went to share the good news with others, the disciples returned with the food and water necessary for His survival, but Jesus paid no attention to the life sustaining nourishment that was before Him. When His disciples urged Him to eat, He said "I have meat to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest." (John 4:32-35). The true meat that sustains is doing the work of the Father. It is in seeking to save the lost. This is the true reward of the righteous.

My friend, if we are to partake of the joy of our Lord in heaven, we must first partake of His joy here on this earth. As we seek to save the lost, the work of cleansing us from all unrighteousness is completed in our hearts.

The Race for Eternal Life

Today's Devotion

The Race for Eternal Life
My Thoughts:
My friend, everlasting life begins when you accept Jesus, the only begotten Son of God as your Savior, for Jesus said "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24). This life that He is talking about is not something that comes in the future, but is a present reality.

Our salvation has nothing to do with our performance, for it is the work of Jesus within us. When we accept Christ as our Savior, we receive His Spirit within our hearts. We have passed from death unto life; we have received the new birth and are now children of God.

The thing that confuses us is that even after this new birth, we continue to struggle with the same sinful desires as we did before. We do not feel as though we are saved. This is because the process of erasing the stain of sin upon our characters takes time in this life. The forgiveness of sin that is promised us has happened, but the cleansing from all unrighteousness happens throughout our life. But all is the work of Christ.

For most of us the understanding of what constitutes sin is the problem. We have been taught that sin is an action that we commit when in fact sin is a state of being. We commit acts of sin because we are sinful in nature, thus if we are to stop committing acts of sin we must have a new nature. That happens with the new birth in Jesus, but even as a new born baby needs time to grow and mature, so too do all that have been born again in Christ.

Through the growth process we become more and more like our Father in heaven, but along the way we continue to make mistakes; in this case acts of sin. But while we make mistakes we do not cease to be children of God. The child that does things that displease its parents does not cease to be their child. The same is true for us.

My friend, if you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you have everlasting life. The work that is going on in your life today is the process of fitting you for heaven. It is the work of sanctification and is the work of a lifetime. The work that is not completed in the sanctuary of your heart, is completed in the work in the sanctuary in heaven. But whether we are fitted for translation or are resurrected into newness of life, the promise is sure. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." (Matthew 6:47), for He is the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Heaven a Real Place

Today's Devotion
Thursday, May 21, 2020
Heaven a Real Place
My Thoughts:
My friend, heaven is the place where God dwells, and all those who are to be there will be in harmony with Him. Our salvation happens when we accept Christ as our Savior and we are born again. Our fitness for heaven happens as Christ our High Priest ministers in the most holy place of the temple of our hearts. As He applies His life to us our souls are cleansed from the defilement that a life of sin has wrought upon our characters.

This work of sanctification begins when we accept Jesus and continues on throughout our lives. For some, like Enoch and Elijah, they are perfected in this life and are translated to heaven. For the rest of those who have trusted in Jesus, the work is completed in the heavenly sanctuary. Either way our fitness for heaven is assured. "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God." (Romans 5:1, 2).

My friend just as heaven is real so too is our salvation. As we trust in Jesus the literal Son of God, He applies His life to us and works to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. The righteousness that we receive is real and we truly receive a new spirit within us. How sad it is today that there are those who have accepted a counterfeit savior whoes righteousness is not literally true.

The trinity presents to the people a counterfeit savior called "God the Son" who is not in reality a son, but is only a metaphor, meaning not literally true. Thus those who trust in a savior that is only a metaphor are trusting in a salvation is only a metaphor as well. They do not in fact receive the righteousness of God, but receive a righteousness that cannot transform the heart. "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life." (1 John 5:11, 12).

My friend, it is time for you to study to show thyself approved of God, rightly dividing the Word of truth. It is time to put your savior to the test. If he is real, then the salvation that is offered is real. But if he is not, then your salvation is not also. It is time to look away from the false god of the trinity unto the One true God through His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ today, that you may receive the real righteousness of God through His Son.
