My friend, the great deception that is to come is Satan presenting
himself as Christ. This manifestation of the false Christ is still
future, but in the hearts and minds of Christianity they have already
accepted this false Christ in their hearts, and as such it is no wonder
that they receive him when he manifests himself in person.
Jesus said of the last days "Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."
(Matthew 24:4, 5). Satan's greatest weapon against the people of God is
his ability to deceive. Though we have read this passage many times as
good Seventh-day Adventists we pride ourselves in our understanding of
prophecy and the Spirit of Prophecy. But though we know that Satan is
the master deceiver, we underestimate his ability to deceive us, and do
not realize that the church has already been deceived.
The false Christ that is to come has already been received into the
hearts and minds of the people. This false Christ is called "God the
Son"; a being that is not in reality the Son of God, but is only a
metaphor meaning not literally true. By the churches acceptance of the
trinity in place of the One true God of the Bible, it has forsaken Jesus
Christ the only begotten Son of God for the counterfeit Christ, and as
such has led the church into the Laodicean condition that it is in
today.
Of this the apostle John wrote saying "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father:
(but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also." (1 John
2:22, 23). In accepting the false Christ of the trinity the church has
accepted the underlying spirit of antichrist, and when Satan manifests
himself as Christ, the church will as readily receive him as those who
are in Babylon.
My friend, it is time to open our eyes to the great deception that
has already been played upon us. It is time to "Study to shew thyself
approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly
dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15). It is time to heed the
counsel of Jesus saying "I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see." (Revelation 3:18).
God bless,
