What is Your Life?

Today's Text The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Luke 12:23

Our life was given us of God, and is dependent upon Him, as the leaf is dependent upon the bough for sustenance. Life is a manifestation of God's love. It is a talent which God has committed to our care, and it is a very costly talent, as viewed in the light of the sacrifice of God's Son. It is an expression of the ownership of God. We are His by creation, and doubly His by redemption. We derive our life from Him. He is the Creator and the Source of all life. He is the Author of the higher life which He desires the beings formed in His image to have. Every one should consider the solemn question, What is my life toward God and my fellow men? No man liveth unto himself. No life is simply neutral in its results.... Every soul is under obligation to live a Christian life. Our individuality, our talents, our time, our influence, our abilities, all given to us of God, are to be rendered back to Him in willing service. The aim and object of life is not to secure temporal advantages, but to make sure of the eternal advantages. God claims your soul, your body, your capabilities; for He has bought them by His own precious blood, and they all belong to Him. It is robbery to withhold yourself from God.... The question of importance to us is, Is our life interwoven with that of Jesus? What is Christian life? It is a life rescued, a life taken out of a world of sin, and attached to the life of Christ. If our life is hid with Christ in God, we shall, when Christ shall appear, also appear with Him in glory. And while in this world we will give to God, in sanctified service, all the capabilities He has given us. What is your life? You must meet and answer that question sometime. My Thoughts: My friend, the life that the Son of God lived here on this earth is offered to all those that would accept Him as their Savior. By His perfect life we are transformed into the image of God, "For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure." (Philippians 2:13). "To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself" (2 Corinthians 5:19). Many believe that their salvation was gained at the cross, but this is not so. At the cross we were forgiven of our sins, but it is by the life of the Son of God that we are transformed into the image of God. It is by His life that we are saved. Christ is not our example, for if He is only our example we could not live up to it. It is by His life; His holy and righteous life that we are transformed into sons and daughters of God, and as such we must have the life of the Son of God living within us. No other being would suffice, for He is the only one that came down from heaven, took upon Himself sinful flesh and overcame sin in the flesh, that He may impart His victorious life for us. "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." (Romans 8:1-4). My friend to walk after the Spirit is to have the life of the Son of God living within us that we may be sanctified and made righteous. This being cannot be a third person that is neither the Father nor the Son like the trinity teaches. It must be the Son of God Himself that lives within us, for the Scriptures proclaim "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:" (Colossians 1:27). The Crowning Act of Creation

Today's Text So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him. Genesis 1:27

Here is clearly set forth the origin of the human race; and the divine record is so plainly stated that there is no occasion for erroneous conclusions. After the earth, with its teeming animal and vegetable life, had been called into existence, man, the crowning work of the Creator, and the one for whom the beautiful earth had been fitted up, was brought upon the stage of action.... As man came forth from the hand of his Creator, he was of lofty stature and perfect symmetry. His countenance bore the ruddy tint of health, and glowed with the light of life and joy. Adam's height was much greater than that of men who now inhabit the earth. Eve was somewhat less in stature; yet her form was noble, and full of beauty. There is no ground for the supposition that man was evolved, by slow degrees of development, from the lower forms of animal or vegetable life. Such teaching lowers the great work of the Creator to the level of man's narrow, earthly conceptions. Men are so intent upon excluding God from the sovereignty of the universe that they degrade man and defraud him of the dignity of his origin. He who set the starry worlds on high, and tinted with delicate skill the flowers of the field, who filled the earth and the heavens with the wonders of His power, when He came to crown His glorious work, to place one in the midst to stand as ruler of the fair earth, did not fail to create a being worthy of the hand that gave him life. The genealogy of our race, as given by inspiration, traces back its origin, not to a line of developing germs, mollusks, and quadrupeds, but to the great Creator. Though formed from the dust, Adam was “the son of God.” Next to the angelic beings, the human family, formed in “the image of God,” are the noblest of His created works. When Adam came from the Creator's hand, he bore, in his physical, mental, and spiritual nature, a likeness to his Maker, a likeness to his Maker. “God created man in His own image” (Genesis 1:27), it was His purpose that the longer man lived the more fully he should reveal this image—the more fully reflect the glory of the Creator. My Thoughts: My friend, "God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:" (Genesis 1:26). Many today believe that this text is referring to the trinity, but one only needs to look at the creation of man to understand that He was not. He was simply speaking to the only other being that could enter into His counsels. His only begotten Son. When God created man in His image He created them male and female, two beings to represent the likeness of the divine godhead. Adam and Eve were created to represent not only the physical, mental, and spiritual image of God, but they were also to represent the relationship of the Father and the Son. When the Son of God was brought forth from the very bosom of the Father, there were none to witness this wonderful event, for none were at this point created. Satan had brought into question the authority of the Son, and as the question led many to doubt to the authority of the Son, open rebellion ensued and there was no longer a place for those in rebellion in heaven. Though they had been cast out, there still remained a question in the minds of some on the matter. Thus in the creation of man, God gave an illustration of the relationship of the Father and the Son. Adam was created differently from Eve and represented the Father. Though the Father has no beginning, he served as a illustration of Him. Eve was brought forth from the side of Adam and as such she came forth from him illustrating the way the Son of God was brought forth from the Father. In the creation of man, we do not see three beings like the trinity teaches, but only two; Adam to represent the Father and Eve to represent the Son. Where you might ask is the Holy Spirit. "...and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (Genesis 2:7). The Holy Spirit is not represented as a third being as many would believe, but is simply the Spirit of God. As Eve shared the same spirit as Adam, so too does the Son share the divine Spirit of the Father. My friend, it is very clear that the trinity is not represented in the creation of man. When God said "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness." (Genesis 1:26), He was speaking to His Son. God bless,

All Nature Upheld by God

Today's Text And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Colossians 1:17

As regards this earth, Scripture declares the work of creation to have been completed. “The works were finished from the foundation of the world.” Hebrews 4:3. But the power of God is still exercised in upholding the objects of His creation. It is not by its own inherent energy that the heart beats, and breath follows breath. Every breath, every pulsation of the heart, is an evidence of the care of Him in whom we live and move and have our being. Not by its own inherent energy does the earth produce its bounties, and year by year continue its motion around the sun. An unseen hand guides the planets in their circuit of the heavens. The God of heaven is constantly at work. It is by His power that vegetation is caused to flourish, that every leaf appears and every flower blooms. Every drop of rain or flake of snow, every spire of grass, every leaf and flower and shrub, testifies of God. These little things so common around us teach the lesson that nothing is beneath the notice of the infinite God, nothing is too small for His attention. Many teach that matter possesses vital power. They hold that certain properties are imparted to matter, and it is then left to act through its own inherent power; and that the operations of nature are conducted in harmony with fixed laws, with which God Himself cannot interfere. This is false science, and is not sustained by the Word of God. Nature is the servant of her Creator. God does not annul His laws, or work contrary to them; but He is continually using them as His instruments. God's handiwork in nature is not God Himself in nature. God uses nature to reveal His power and His love. But no one is authorized to say that God Himself is in leaf or flower or tree. While nature is an expression of God's thought, it is not nature but the God of nature that is to be exalted. There is in nature the continual working of the Father and the Son. Christ says, “My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.” John 5:17. The hand that sustains the worlds in space, the hand that holds in their orderly arrangement and tireless activity all things throughout the universe of God, is the hand that was nailed to the cross for us. My Thoughts: My friend, the power that was used to create all things is the same power that sustains all that He has created. All things were created by the Father through the Son. It is interesting today that nearly the whole of the Christian world looks to the Son of God as the Creator of all things, and while this is not a false statement, it is not completely accurate. "And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:" (Ephesians 3:9). Many look to the verses that show that all things were created by the Son and use them to prove that the Son of God is God, for only God has the power to create. While this is true, the Son of God is divine, and though not created, has a beginning. His beginning does not mean that He is a created being like we are, but that He was brought forth from the very bosom of the Father, as such he is the only begotten Son of God. The divinity of the Son does not come from the fact that He is God, but that He came forth from the Father, and as such He is the Son of God. The church erroneously teaches that in order for the Son of God to be divine He has to have always existed, and to hold such a teaching one has to deny that He is truly a son, for to be a true son one has to have been born, and if one is born then one has to have a beginning. As such the trinity teaches that the Son of God is not truly a son, but is God the Son, a divine being that has taken upon Himself the role of a son, but is in fact not really a son. If this is to be true then both the Father and the Son are liars, for the Father has testified that Jesus is His son, and Jesus has attested that He is the Son of God. In John 3:16, 17 Jesus declares that He was the Son of God before He came to the world saying " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." For God to give to us His Son, He must have a son to give. If the Son of God is not truly a son, then God did not give us His Son, but He gave us someone else. If He did not give us His Son then He did not give of Himself. The whole of the gospel is founded upon the gift that God has given to us in His Son. If the Son of God is not truly His Son, then the whole of the gospel is destroyed. Of this great deception the apostle John has foretold saying "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also." (1 John 2:22, 23). My friend, the trinity is a false teaching of Babylon that has made its way into the Seventh-day Adventist Church, "For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ." (Jude 4). It is time for us to see the truth as it is in the word of God. "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3).
