The True Value of Money

This scripture teaches that God, as the giver of all our benefits, has a claim upon them all; that His claim should be our first consideration; and that a special blessing will attend all who honor this claim.

Herein is set forth a principle that is seen in all God's dealings with men. The Lord placed our first parents in the Garden of Eden. He surrounded them with everything that could minister to their happiness, and He bade them acknowledge Him as the possessor of all things. In the Garden He caused to grow every tree that was pleasant to the eye or good for food; but among them He made one reserve. Of all else, Adam and Eve might freely eat; but of this one tree God said, “Thou shalt not eat of it.” Here was the test of their gratitude and loyalty to God.

So the Lord has imparted to us heaven's richest treasure in giving us Jesus. With Him He has given us all things richly to enjoy. Counsels on Stewardship, 65.

God also entrusts men with means. He gives them power to get wealth. He waters the earth with the dews of heaven and with the showers of refreshing rain. He gives the sunlight, which warms the earth, awakening to life the things of nature and causing them to flourish and bear fruit. And He asks for a return of His own.

Our money has not been given us that we might honor and glorify ourselves. As faithful stewards we are to use it for the honor and glory of God. Some think that only a portion of their means is the Lord's. When they have set apart a portion for religious and charitable purposes, they regard the remainder as their own, to be used as they see fit. But in this they mistake. All we possess is the Lord's, and we are accountable to Him for the use we make of it. In the use of every penny, it will be seen whether we love God supremely and our neighbor as ourselves. Money has great value, because it can do great good. In the hands of God's children it is food for the hungry, drink for the thirsty, and clothing for the naked. It is a defense for the oppressed, and a means of help to the sick. But money is of no more value than sand, only as it is put to use in providing for the necessities of life, in blessing others, and advancing the cause of Christ. Christ's Object Lessons, 351.

My friend, the right use of money brings honor and glory to God. All the money that has been placed in our hands is to be used for the sustenance of our families and for the good of others. If we will use money in this way, we will be greatly blessed.

Time a Precious Talent

Our time belongs to God. Every moment is His, and we are under the most solemn obligation to improve it to His glory. Of no talent He has given will He require a more strict account than of our time.

The value of time is beyond computation. Christ regarded every moment as precious, and it is thus that we should regard it. Life is too short to be trifled away. We have but a few days of probation in which to prepare for eternity. We have no time to waste, no time to devote to selfish pleasure, no time for the indulgence of sin. It is now that we are to form characters for the future, immortal life. It is now that we are to prepare for the searching judgment.

The human family have scarcely begun to live when they begin to die, and the world's incessant labor ends in nothingness unless a true knowledge in regard to eternal life is gained. The man who appreciates time as his working day will fit himself for a mansion and for a life that is immortal. It is well that he was born. We are admonished to redeem the time. But time squandered can never be recovered. We cannot call back even one moment. The only way in which we can redeem our time is by making the most of that which remains, by being co-workers with God in His great plan of redemption....

Every moment is freighted with eternal consequences. We are to stand as minute men, ready for service at a moment's notice. The opportunity that is now ours to speak to some needy soul the word of life may never offer again. God may say to that one, “This night thy soul shall be required of thee,” and through our neglect he may not be ready. (Luke 12:20.) In the great judgment day, how shall we render our account to God? Christ's Object Lessons, 342, 343.

My Thoughts:

My friend, in the light of eternity, there is very little time for us to fashion characters for heaven. Knowing this, Satan endeavors to distract the mind from a true knowledge of God, that we may squander away our time of probation until there is no time left for us.

A true knowledge of God is essential for our salvation. Thus Satan has introduced to the Christian world a counterfeit. This counterfeit is the trinity. It has the outward appearance of God, but has no power to transform the life. Jesus prayed saying "Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:1-3).

Our knowledge of the One true God is our salvation. Satan well knows that as we spend time with God through His Son Jesus Christ, we will be saved. The trinity introduces a counterfeit Jesus in place of the Son of God. This counterfeit is God the Son, a being who co-equal and co-eternal and is God unto himself, thus not truly the Son of God.

This counterfeit Son of God is not truly a son like as we are, but is only a title that one of the god-beings has assumed for the salvation of man, thus destroying the whole of the gospel which is "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son," (John 3:16). By introducing a counterfeit, Satan has effectively separated us from God.

My friend, the trinity is a counterfeit of the One true God, and as such cannot save us. "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15). It is time to look away from the false god of the trinity unto the One true God through His Son Jesus Christ while there is still time.

Strife and persecution separate those who worship the One true God from those who do not. Those who have accepted the first angels message, heed the call to come out of Babylon, and are ready to stand firm when the mark of the beast is being implemented. This message was presented at the Sabbath service of the Advent Bible Fellowship group on Guam, July 13, 2019.

A Life Insurance Policy for You

In the council of heaven, provision was made that men, though transgressors, should not perish in their disobedience, but, through faith in Christ as their substitute and surety, might become the elect of God, predestinated unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to Himself according to the good pleasure of His will. God wills that all men should be saved; for ample provision has been made, in giving His only-begotten Son to pay man's ransom. Those who perish will perish because they refuse to be adopted as children of God through Christ Jesus....

There is no such thing in the Word of God as unconditional election—once in grace, always in grace. In the second chapter of Second Peter the subject is made plain and distinct. After a history of some who followed an evil course, the explanation is given: “Which have forsaken the right way, ... following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness.” 2 Peter 2:15.... Here is a class of whom the apostle warns, “For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.” 2 Peter 2:21....

There is truth to be received if souls are saved. The keeping of the commandments of God is life eternal to the receiver. But the Scriptures make it plain that those who once knew the way of life and rejoiced in the truth are in danger of falling through apostasy, and being lost. Therefore there is need of a decided, daily conversion to God.

All who seek to sustain the doctrine of election, once in grace, always in grace, do this against a plain, “Thus saith the Lord.” SDA Bible Commentary 6:1114, 1115.

It depends upon your course of action as to whether or not you will secure the benefits bestowed upon those who, as the elect of God, receive an eternal life-insurance policy. SDA Bible Commentary 7:944.

My Thoughts:

My friend, there is nothing in and of ourselves that we can do to save ourselves. Our salvation is wholly dependent upon the work of the only begotten Son of God. His life, death, and resurrection is for our salvation. Our true problem with sin is that we are sinful by nature. The fruits of the carnal heart is sin, and unless we have a transformation of our natures, we cannot be saved.

As we accept Christ as our Savior, we have passed from death unto life. Jesus said "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24). This new life is the life of Jesus born within us, "For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;" (John 5:26).

Once we have accepted Jesus as our Savior, we are a new creation, but the inroads that sin has wrought within our characters must be cleansed. This too is the work of Christ, for He is the author and finisher of our faith. Our salvation is not based upon our performance, but upon the indwelling of Jesus within our hearts. But the work of fitting us for heaven will require a work of purifying us from all unrighteousness.

While our sanctification is the work of Christ within our hearts, we have a part to play in this process. We must continually surrender our wills to the work of Jesus within us. In this process we will fail many times, but as long as we are working together with Him, He will see us through. "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:" (Philippians 1:6).
