My friend, when we make the Sabbath a delight we invite the heavenly hosts to worship along with us. If Christ is truly living within our hearts it will be a delight. Yet so many today look to the Sabbath with dread, marking the time of its opening and longing to be freed from its restrictions. Those that look to the Sabbath in this way are not sanctified for worship. They are not looking unto Jesus that they may be transformed by beholding Him, but have looked unto the law and strive to keep it.
Seventh-day Adventists of today have become like the Pharisees of old, followers of the law rather than followers of Jesus Christ. The church has an outward show of righteousness but in their hearts they not. As a result their experience has become a dull and formalism. Though many will not admit this, they surround themselves with outward shows of happiness while in their hearts they long for the Sabbath to be over.
The church today has taken on a form of righteousness while denying the power of God to transform their lives. As such they are deceived into thinking that they are righteous when they are not. Of this the Faithful and True Witness says "...and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:" (Revelation 3:17).
How can the state of the church which was once the faithful church of Philadelphia become the wretched church of Laodicea? The answer is found in verses 18 and 20 of Revelation 3. The Faithful and True Witness counsels them to buy of Him white raiment that the shame of their nakedness may not be seen. They lack the righteousness of Christ and are blind to their condition before God.
The church is in this condition because they are no longer following Jesus Christ, for He is depicted as on the outside seeking to gain entrance into the hearts of His people. They are blind to their condition because they have adopted the worship of the trinity which has the outward appearance of God, but in reality is not.
From the time that our church pioneers have been laid to rest the arch deceiver has crept into the church and has supplanted the worship of the One true God with the worship of the trinity, which has the outward form of God but in reality is not. It has led the church to look away from the One true God through His Son Jesus Christ unto a triune being that is made up of three individual god-beings that are collectively God and also individually God. As such the Son of God has been supplanted with God the Son, a being that is God first and Son second, meaning that he is a God unto himself rather than deriving his divinity from the Father. In presenting Jesus in this way it denies that He is truly the Son of God, for in order to be a son, he must have a beginning, but according to the trinity he is God unto himself and cannot have a beginning.
The trinity destroys the whole of the gospel by denying that the Son of God is truly a son, for if the Son is not truly a son, then the Father is not truly a father and makes Him out to be a liar for He said "This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:17). Of this the Scriptures have foretold saying "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son." (1 John 2:22).
My friend, if in your heart you have looked to the Sabbath as a burden rather than a delight, then you have not been sanctified by the Son of God living within your heart. Your belief in the trinity has led you to accept a false god in place of the One true God through His Son Jesus Christ. It is time to look away from this false God unto the true Son of God today.
God bless,
