My friend, to be born of the water is when we accept Christ as our Savior and are baptized, symbolizing the death to self and resurrection into newness of life. While this is a symbolic event, it is simply an outward declaration of an inward change that has taken place in the heart of the believer in Christ.
We are born with a sinful nature that is separated from God and prone to sin. In and of ourselves we cannot be righteous, for righteousness is not just right doing, but right being. What we need is a transformation of our natures. This comes as we accept Jesus as our Savior. Baptism is an outward show of what has happened within our hearts.
When we accept Christ as our Savior and are baptized, we are baptized into His death. The old self is laid in the grave and the new life is born within. This is the new birth that Jesus was speaking of to Nicodemus saying "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." (John 3:5).
The new spirit that is born in us is the divine Spirit of God that is in Jesus Christ. "Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." (John 14:10). The life that dwells within us is the divine life of God, and as we daily surrender to Him, His life is manifested in us. Where we once had no power to overcome sin, we now have the power within us through the indwelling of Jesus, to resist and overcome sin.
My friend, the indwelling of Jesus in our hearts is not in harmony with the doctrine of the trinity, for it teaches that the Spirit that lives within us is not the Spirit of Christ, but the spirit of a being that is neither the Father nor the Son, and as such is not the Spirit of God.
it is time to look away from the trinity and surrender your heart to the One true God through His Son Jesus Christ today.
God bless,
