Changed by Beholding

Today's Text But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:18

As the mind dwells upon Christ, the character is molded after the divine similitude. The thoughts are pervaded with a sense of His goodness, His love. We contemplate His character, and thus He is in all our thoughts. His love encloses us. If we gaze even a moment upon the sun in its meridian glory, when we turn away our eyes, the image of the sun will appear in everything upon which we look. Thus it is when we behold Jesus; everything we look upon reflects His image, the Sun of Righteousness. We cannot see anything else, or talk of anything else. His image is imprinted upon the eye of the soul, and affects every portion of our daily life, softening and subduing our whole nature. By beholding, we are conformed to the divine similitude, even the likeness of Christ. To all with whom we associate we reflect the bright and cheerful beams of His righteousness. We have become transformed in character; for heart, soul, mind, are irradiated by the reflection of Him who loved us, and gave Himself for us.... Jesus Christ is everything to us—the first, the last, the best in everything. Jesus Christ, His Spirit, His character, colors everything; it is the warp and the woof, the very texture of our entire being. The words of Christ are spirit and life. We cannot, then, center our thoughts upon self; it is no more we that live, but Christ that liveth in us, and He is the hope of glory. Self is dead, but Christ is a living Saviour. Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers, 388-390. If we keep our minds stayed upon Christ, He will come unto us “as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.” Hosea 6:3. As the Sun of Righteousness, He will arise upon us “with healing in his wings.” Malachi 4:2. We shall “grow as the lily.” We shall “revive as the corn, and grow as the vine.” Hosea 14:5, 7. By constantly relying upon Christ as our personal Saviour, we shall grow up into Him in all things who is our head. Christ's Object Lessons, 67. My Thoughts: My friend, it is a law of nature that we are changed by that which we behold. As we daily look unto Jesus, we are changed into His image. "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." (2 Corinthians 3:18). Satan knows that if we look unto Jesus, the Son of the living God, we will be transformed and he will have no power over us. Thus it has been his sole aim to separate us from this power. By the introduction of the false god of the trinity, he has artfully supplanted the Son of God for God the Son. As we look unto this false image of Jesus, we are disconnected from the power of God. In teaching that the Son of God is not truly a son, but is God unto himself, we are separated from the power of God. The image we see is not a true son like as we are, but unto a being that is God unto himself. His life is his own and he is only playing the role of a son that we may be saved. This image of God destroys the whole of the gospel which is "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16). In order for God to give us His Son, He had to have a son to give. If the Son of God is not truly a son, then God did not give us His life, but the life of another. Of this the Scriptures declare "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also." (1 John 2:22, 23). The spirit of the trinity is the spirit of antichrist. As we look unto God as a trinity, we receive a false experience of righteousness by faith. This is the condition of the Laodicean Church: this is the condition of the Seventh-day Adventist Church today. By the acceptance of the trinity, we have been led into a false experience of righteousness by faith, and as such we are needing white raiment that we may be clothed. My friend, by the churches acceptance of the trinity we have moved from the pure church of Philadelphia to the corrupt church of Laodicea. It is time for us to heed the call of the Faithful and True Witness of God saying "... be zealous therefore, and repent." (Revelation 3:19). God bless,
