My friend, we cannot hang upon the promises of God unless we know what those promises are. How many of us truly trust in the word of God as we should? Jesus promised His disciples saying "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you." (John 14:18), and "...lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." (Matthew 28:20). How could Jesus who is up in heaven ministering for us in the heavenly sanctuary be with us as we walk through our lives today? The answer is by His Spirit.
The promise that Jesus made was that He would be with them always, and He does this through His Spirit, for the Comforter is the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is Jesus Christ the righteous. The Comforter that He promised to send was not another being like many believe, but was Himself in another form. He used the illustration of the Comforter because the disciples could not grasp the plain words that He was telling them. We see further on in the discourse that Jesus said "These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father." (John 16:25).
We have the promise that Jesus Himself would be with us always, not by some other being, but that He would be with us by His Spirit. What a blessing this promise is, but so many in the Christian world to include the Seventh-day Adventist church believes that this Comforter is not the Spirit of Christ, but the Spirit of another being. This is the deception of the trinity, for it claims that the Holy Spirit is not the Father nor the Son, but is a being unto itself, and as such the Comforter is not Jesus, making void Jesus' promises.
The trinity is a false representation of God, and as such is not God. The trinity is the foundational teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, by it comes all of her doctrines. It was rejected by our church pioneers as false, and yet today it has embraced it as truth. Either our church pioneers, to include the prophet of God, was wrong or they were right and the church today is in apostasy. It has to be one or the other.
My friend, it was difficult for me to accept that the trinity was false. it took over a year for me to see through the deception that I had believed all my life, but once I gave in to the plain teachings of Scripture, the word of God became as a new book; things that were unclear before, became clear. Things that did not make sense before now made perfect sense. I now see that it is Jesus Himself that is with me, not someone else.
"And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3).
God bless,
