My friend, we all should study the Scriptures, that God may be revealed to us in His Son. The Old Testament pointed forward to the coming Savior, and the New Testament revealed the Son of God as our Savior. One thing that is important to understand is that the Old Testament was but a dim revelation of the glory of God, while the New was the greater manifestation of God in His Son.
The Old Testament pointed forward through types and symbols of the coming Messiah. God had given the Jews the oracles of truth through the moral and ceremonial laws that through them they could come into a knowledge of Him. While these forms were necessary for their time, they were but a dim revelation of God. In the Son of God was the full revelation of God in human form. "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;" (Hebrews 1:1-3).
The Jews were rigorous keepers of the law and ceremonies, so much so that they lost sight of the purpose of these types which was to point them to the Savior to come. When Jesus came they did not recognize Jesus as the promised Messiah. The law of God had been so perverted by their traditions that they accused the Messiah of setting aside the law. To this Jesus proclaimed "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil." (Matthew 5:17). In Jesus was the law of God manifested. Up until that time the revelation of God was through the law and the sacrificial system, but in Jesus was the fullness of God revealed.
Today the Seventh-day Adventist church have become like the Jews of old. They hold fast to the law and their traditions rather than upon the fulfillment of the law in Jesus Christ. The church has lost sight of Jesus Christ as our righteousness, and has looked back to the law that they may obtain righteousness. But this is a false righteousness for it is not founded upon the life of Jesus Christ.
The church by looking back to the law has looked away from the brighter manifestation of God in His Son. In fact the church has rejected Jesus Christ all together. While you may be offended by this statement it is none the less true. By the adoption of the trinity the church has accepted another Jesus in place of the Son of God. By the trinity the church has accepted God the Son in place of the Son of God. This is evident in the condition of the church today.
When the Seventh-day Adventist Church was first established it was depicted in Revelation as the Church of Philadelphia, a church without fault before God. But today the once pure church of Philadelphia has become the wretched church of Laodicea, a church whose spiritual condition is sickening to Him. It is in this condition because it has forsaken Christ, and as such lacks His righteousness. He is depicted as on the outside seeking to gain entrance upon the hearts of His people saying "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:20).
My friend, the Word of God is very clear, there is but One true God and that is the Father, and He is revealed to us by His Son. Of this Jesus prayed saying "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3). Wont you study your Bible and open your heart to Jesus, the true Son of God today?
God bless,
