My friend, we partake of the divine nature as we read the word of God and take hold of its precious promises. The power that is in the word of God is the power of the Spirit of God as it is in Christ Jesus, for He is the Word of God manifested to mankind.
Our real problem with sin is not that we have sinned, it is that we are sinful. We were born without the righteousness of God, separated from His Spirit: without spiritual life. Jesus came that He may give to us life, but not just any life, He came that He may give us His life, the divine life of God.
By Adams sin, he separated himself from the Spirit of God, and as such he could not give to us that which he did not have. He could not give to us a holy and righteous spirit. What he gave to us was a spirit that was separated from God and as such was sinful and selfish. The fruits of this spirit is sin. As an apple tree can only produce apples, so too does the sinful heart produce sinful acts.
Thus our salvation is not found at the cross, but in the life of the Son of God. The cross was necessary and His sacrifice was given to all men that they may not die, but the life of the Son of Man, must be accepted, it must be taken hold of, it must be partaken of, that the spirit of man may be transformed. "He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me." (John 6:56, 57).
Jesus was not advocating cannibalism, but was speaking of partaking of Him spiritually. As we are daily in the word of God, we are partaking of Him as the Word of God. His life, becomes our life, and His thoughts become our thoughts. As we daily partake of Christ, our natures are transformed and it is not we that live, but Christ that lives within us. Thus we are transformed from sinful to righteous. As the righteousness of Christ lives within us, our thoughts and actions become holy and righteous, for righteous acts can only come from a righteous being. Thus is fulfilled the words of Jesus "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16).
When Christ is living within us, all that we say and all that we do glorify our Father in heaven.
May you partake of the divine nature of Jesus today.
God bless,
